In school, it can get challenging especially when you’re going from one grade level to another. Maybe there is that one subject in school that you struggle with and just don’t understand. What do you do about it? Maybe you are an honor roll student and is struggling. You might feel anxious knowing that everything won’t be easy. For example, I am in the eighth grade. Every year I am filled with so much fear, because I want to continue making good grades and not get knocked down when things get hard, so I set goals for myself and prepare myself so I can get through this school year. How to do that you may ask. Well, you have to set goals for yourself and get that positive mindset that you can do all things through Jesus Christ.
Goals are commitments that you set for yourself in order to improve or make a change within oneself. A goal is like a second chance to make a different person out of yourself. A goal can be anything dealing with your personal life, you’re mentality, or your spiritual self. Our main goal should mainly be to not leave this school year the way we came in. Especially, everybody needs improving every now and then. In order to do this, you have to be committed to your goals but most of all you cannot stop when things become hard or when a challenge may come your way. Philippians 3:14 says “I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” In spite of everything, you have to keep a forward mind when you are trying to achieve your goals. Why should you make goals as a kids? They keep you focused and help you not to get distracted from the things around you. They help you make a better person out of yourself and brings the best out of you and the abilities you have to become successful. Goals are there to guide you and make you stronger in any situation.
Faith also comes in handy in school. For instance, maybe there’s a sport you want to join or a school club. Sometimes we ask ourselves are we capable of doing it. Are we ready and should you do it. In Matthew 21:21, it says “Then Jesus told them, I tell you the truth, if you have faith and don’t doubt, you can do things like this and much more. You can even say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen.” Even when you don’t think you’re capable of doing something, God knows you can. Jesus even says that you can do more things through faith. Why doubt yourself when God has clearly gave you the gift to do whatever that is required of you to do? Faith is the path to victory and doubt is the path to failure. You have to strive and think positive through it all despite of how hard it is. God will make a way out of no way. He will open doors for you and allow your light to shine.
So whatever you’re mind is set to do, do it. God is with you and will guide you. He’s capable of all things and there is nothing that’s too hard or too much for God to fix. Put it all in God’s hands, have faith, and keep moving towards your goals. Be reminded that God puts victory at the end of your road. All you have to do is claim it.
